Job Overview
As the Airport Operations Supervisor at McKinney National Airport (TKI), you will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily airport operations, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with federal aviation regulations. You’ll supervise airport operations staff, coordinate aeronautical activities, and support emergency response efforts while fostering efficient airport use.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Supervision

Lead and supervise Airport Operations personnel; evaluate performance, schedule work, and support team development.

Conduct daily inspections of airfield surfaces, markings, lighting, signage, and navigation aids.

Oversee credentialing and security programs, including access control and security training.

Coordinate with the Air Traffic Control Tower and respond to emergency situations.

Maintain compliance with FAA Part 139 and CFR Part 1542 requirements.
Safety & Emergency Response

Participate in emergency operations and coordinate aircraft incident investigations.

Implement safety training programs and ensure ongoing staff compliance.

Issue and manage Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs).
Airport Support & Coordination
-
Assist in updating key airport documents: Airport Certification Manual, Emergency Plan, Wildlife Hazard Management Plan, and other compliance plans.

Monitor construction and maintenance activities around operational areas.

Provide liaison support with contractors, tenants, government agencies, and the public.
Additional Functions
-
Support budget planning and training record tracking.

Contribute to wildlife management, snow removal coordination, and daily airside maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Airport Management or aviation-related field plus at least three (3) years’ experience in operations at a large reliever or commercial airport
OR
✔ Bachelor’s degree in another field plus five (5) years’ airport operations experience at a large reliever or commercial service airport
Preferred: Supervisory experience and AAAE Certified Member (CM) or Airport Certified Employee (ACE) credentials highly desirable.
