Job Overview
As a Bridge Carpenter Helper, you will assist skilled carpenters and foremen in the construction, repair, and maintenance of bridges and transportation structures. This role plays a vital part in ensuring job sites remain safe, organized, and productive while gaining hands-on experience in bridge carpentry and heavy highway construction.

Key Responsibilities

Control traffic in and around active bridge construction zones

Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate safety hazards

Signal equipment operators to assist with safe movement and positioning

Load, unload, and distribute construction materials and tools

Measure, mark, and record layouts for construction activities

Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact soil to grade specifications

Operate and tend pumps, compressors, and generators
-
Assist with handling materials such as dirt, gravel, and asphalt
-
Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
-
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Willingness to work in a variety of construction support roles

Strong commitment to job site safety

High school diploma or GED preferred

Three to six months of related field construction experience preferred

Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments
