Job Overview
As a Skilled Laborer / Groundman, you will assist in all phases of telecommunications and utility construction, supporting aerial and underground cable installation projects. This position is critical to keeping job sites running efficiently and safely while gaining exposure to advanced telecom construction skills such as fiber splicing, coax splicing, and directional drilling.
Key Responsibilities

Perform manual labor including digging trenches, backfilling, and site preparation

Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, picks, and other construction equipment

Load, unload, and transport materials and heavy equipment to job sites daily

Assist in building and maintaining aerial and underground cable systems

Support crews in troubleshooting and resolving field issues

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions on active utility construction sites

Learn, train, and safely operate specialized telecom tools and equipment

Follow all safety standards and company procedures
Required Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record

Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments

Willingness to learn the telecom construction trade and advance skills

Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic

Military experience with related MOS codes is highly valued
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience
